To measure your feet accurately at home for your new Edea ice skates, you’ll need your skating socks, two blank A4 pieces of paper, a pencil, a ruler, and a friend who’s okay with getting up close and personal with your feet.
- Pull on the socks you intend to use while you’re skating to make sure the measurements you take match your actual skating conditions.
- Place two blank sheets of paper on the floor, and then stand upright on them, evenly distributing your weight between both feet.
- Ask your helper to mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe and the very back of your heel. They’ll need to hold the pencil vertically to capture the most accurate measurement.
- Repeat for the other foot.
- Step off the paper and measure the distance in millimetres between your toe mark and your heel mark on both papers with a ruler.
- Don’t worry if the measurements aren’t the same; it’s actually more common for one foot to be slightly larger than the other! Just make sure you use the larger measurement to determine your skate size.
Remember, skates are meant to fit more snugly than regular shoes. This snugness provides stability and precision while on ice, so don’t worry if your skate size is slightly different to your standard shoe size.
