Choosing the right pair of inline skates can make a big difference to your game, from speed and control to how confident you feel on the court. At Willies, we stock a wide range of inline hockey skates and roller hockey skates, with options for juniors, seniors and all experience levels. Whether you're after an affordable entry-level pair or upgrading to high-spec pro skates, our selection offers models to suit different playing styles, surfaces and fit preferences.
Two of our most popular options include the Bauer RS Roller Hockey Skates, ideal for beginners and recreational players, and the CCM Tacks 9350 Roller Hockey Skates, which offer great value and solid all-round performance.
We also carry inline skate accessories like wheels & bearings to help you stay match-ready. For those looking for a tailored fit and top-tier performance, we also offer custom inline hockey skates designed to match your exact foot shape and playing style.
Need help choosing? Our in-store specialists are experienced players themselves and can advise on fitting, skate baking and profiling. With fast UK delivery and expert support, Willies is your trusted source for inline hockey gear.
Aside from the obvious — that an ice skate has a blade and an inline skate has wheels, roller hockey skates also have a softer boot, as inline hockey players need more boot flex than ice hockey players.
If you’re new to roller hockey, you want to look for a recreational-level skate with a softer boot to help you stay more comfortable while learning your skating stride.
A great starter skate is the Bauer RS — they come with outdoor wheels, so they’re ideal for street hockey. The Bauer RSX is another excellent option for beginners, coming with an indoor wheel for skating on an indoor surface.
Of course, you will be able to swap the wheel out easily if you want to use your skates on different surfaces — check out our massive range of inline skate wheels and bearings available online and in-store.
Fitting inline skates is often an imperfect science, as each player’s foot is unique. A general guide for fitting roller hockey skates is to go for a size down from your regular shoe size — they should feel snug but not uncomfortably tight! Roller hockey skates come in a range of sizes and volumes, so you can find the perfect fit to complement your game.
For junior players, we typically recommend inline skates the same as their shoe size to leave a little growing room, but it’s better to have a pair of comfortable skates for a shorter time rather than stumbling around in ill-fitting skates.
